Eat. Art. Heart. : A Lifestyle

From the heart

Our mantra?

Well, actually, umm

It goes like this:

So who is our blog for? Simply put, it’s for anyone at any age who is conscious of both health and taste buds—especially those picky-eaters who are constantly on the lookout for the union of both healthy and delicious, being sick and tired of having healthy associated with bland and boring. We believe that if food should make you feel good, then it should by all means look good and taste good as well.

It is also mostly for those who are looking for new vegetarianvegan, or fish recipes (so sorry carnivores, there’s no space for any “bovine intervention” here!)

The main ingredients in our recipes (mostly rich in –but not limited to—Mediterranean treasures like heart-healthy olive oil, fish, whole grains, and vegetables) focus on superfoods and dietary staples all promote heart health, are rich in immunity-boosting antioxidants, and aid in the healthy brain development of children. The recipes are either modified, healthier versions of old and new favorites, or our own— completely devised by us. We also take into consideration the time factor—the busy schedules of people including parents, teens, and college students—and the need to maintain a balanced, well-organized life that makes room for balanced, healthy meals. In our busy lives, we need to tend to our families, our jobs, our social lives, our looks, and most importantly, our health—without the “just add water” magical solution of prepackaged junk. Our recipes are all made from scratch, so “just add love” (among other natural ingredients, of course!).

After many years of experience in the nutrition/health fields and the kitchen, we’ve developed some recipes of our own, stuck with some age-old recipes from our grandmothers, and modified some favorites into healthier options. Our dishes are all rich in antioxidants, flavor, fibers, and the hailed MUFAS (monounsaturated fatty acids) and PUFAS (polyunsaturated fatty acids). The foods we’ll be sharing with you are also suitable for vegetarians, vegans, pescetarians, and all health foodies. And the fun part is, we take the time and effort to share with you the detailed nutrition information of each dish by presenting  a customized nutrition fact label that we’ve devised through the help of a nutrition software, Nutrisoft…that way, you would be informed on the amount of calories per serving, fat, carbs, vitamins, and minerals—all with the %RDA values!

So the experience we want to share with you is one involving that we:

EAT- healthy, yet scrumptious foods…

with a knack of…

ART- of preparation and presentation alike—food fit to be eaten must also appeal to our senses!

And cook with your…

HEART—in what you are preparing for your loved ones. Food from the heart always tastes better! Not to mention that it is also for the hearts of your loved ones too.

We love what we do, and we do it with love…

So heart “heartily”, or Sahten, as we say!

Roula and Sana
